In this session, Paula shares three short films, offering explanations and exploring Judaism in unexpected places. Meet Edna Merom Wapner, who convinces her Japanese Master to initiate her into the secrets of Sumi-e painting – transforming the artist’s, Hebrew calligraphy. Then to Thailand, to see the first female monk ordained in Thailand. Finally meet an Eritrean refugee who translated Anne Frank into Tigrinya. All these captured in short films which engage the audience and pull them into another world.
